Written Sources

The written sources of the period are of course indispensable for this study, including historical chronicles, poetry, legal texts, hagiography and biographical compendia. The table below includes some of the published sources we are using, with brief descriptions and information about different editions. This is not a definitive list, although we intend to add to it during the project, but we hope it will be of some use as a resource for researchers or students interested in the themes of the project.
